When you first press down on the accelerator, there’s a delay before anything actually happens. Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) systems cause this, as they take the signal from the accelerator pedal and send it to the vehicle’s ECU. This entire process introduces a delay known as throttle lag. Additionally, manufacturers deliberately include this delay to make the vehicle suitable for a wide range of drivers.

The basic steps of the Pedal Commander® installation are always the same regardless of the vehicle's make and model:

Turn off the ignition and wait 10-15 minutes with your driver's door open to allow your ECU to shut down.

Disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug, then plug in the heads to connectors on the Pedal Commander® harness.

Clean up the area where you want to mount the control unit with the alcohol wipe. Stick the bracket with the supplied velcro.

After you make sure the cables are secure and won't be tangled, you are ready to enjoy Pedal Commander®.

I gotta say, I was pretty skeptical that a simple e-throttle mod would make very much difference in how my car drives. But man was I wrong! The Peddle Commander is now my favorite performance mod since I started installing aftermarket parts to make my 2017 Fusion Sport faster, bar none. The first time I drove my car after installing the Peddle Commander, I thought it wasn’t turned on or I installed it incorrectly. But then I realized it was on the “economy” setting, so I switched it to “sport” and was immediately amazed at the difference. It felt like my car had magically gained 50 horsepower just by flipping a switch! I also was not prepared for the immediate response and almost had an accident, thank god for good brakes! Economy is comparable to the Normal throttle response, and is the tamest setting. City feels more like the Sport setting, better throttle response and tighter shift feel from the transmission. But the Sport setting on the Peddle Commander is like a whole nother animal entirely! The throttle response is unreal, I get much faster spool-up from the twin turbos, the AWD system sends power to the rear wheels a lot faster and the transmission shifts are instantaneous and feel tighter and more sporty. It’s winter time here in upstate New York, so I haven’t tried the Sport+ setting yet, but come springtime and warmer weather I’m very much looking forward to hitting some twisty mountain roads and seeing what she’s capable of. Completely amazed at the difference, and I’ve been recommending Peddle Commander to my friends. Best -$300 I’ve spent on my car by far!
