Why Would I Want a Pedal Commander?
The major flaw with modern ETCs is how much slower the throttle reaction time is. Producers can limit the throttle's response in two different methods. They initially limit the throttle body's opening. For instance, the ECM will only open to 80% even if the throttle pedal is fully depressed. The speed at which the throttle body opens is likewise controlled by software. In other words, it makes no difference how rapidly you apply the gas. Since the ECM controls the signal's speed, your foot cannot make the throttle body move more quickly.
Pedal Commander solves this problem. The data from the PPS will be accepted by the Pedal Commander, which will then compile it into a high-speed control circuit. The Pedal Position Sensors are where it connects in line with the "Engine Control Unit" system. It also slightly advances that number and transmits it straight to the ECU. The engine computer can skip a few checks using this type of information gearbox before sending the command to open the throttle plate.
This permits you to eliminate the accelerator (gas pedal) delay, speeding up your engine's response time. This makes your gas pedal more sensitive, giving you a sportier or vintage feeling.
