WHAT IS

PEDAL COMMANDER?

If you want to improve your overall driving experience or reduce your environmental effect, you need a Pedal Commander. The majority of contemporary vehicles come equipped with Electronic Throttle Control (ETC). This suggests that your car's Electronic Control Unit (ECU), rather than the conventional throttle cable, which provided a linear connection between your foot and the throttle body, now powers your acceleration. The electronic throttle does not provide the same performance because it introduces a delay after your initial accelerator push.

The "one size fits all" design philosophy is used by manufacturers to produce cars in an effort to satisfy the majority of customers. To put it simply, they are making the vehicleΒ  "idiot-proof". You also don't simply move into a house and leave it, do you? No, you tailor it to your likes and needs to make it easier and more enjoyable. Your car gets help from the Pedal Commander to accomplish this. Drivers have complete control over the sensitivity of their gas pedal thanks to the Pedal Commander throttle response mechanism. The 36 preset levels on the Pedal Commander may accommodate any driving style. Your car's response can actually be programmed to occur at the precise time you want.

Why Your Car has an ETC?

Vehicles undergo modifications every year, mostly as a result of how swiftly technology is developing. The systems in cars that were previously mechanically operated are now controlled by computers. One such contemporary system is the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC), sometimes known as drive-by-wire. It is a form of automobile technology that uses electricity rather than a mechanical linkage to connect the throttle and the accelerator pedal.

An accelerator pedal model, a powertrain/engine control system (PCM/ECM), and a throttle valve that is opened and closed by an electric motor are the three basic components of a traditional drive-by-wire system. It also has a variety of benefits, including less weight to ease engine strain, better placement for longer-term control and flexibility, and it helps to improve fuel efficiency. However, there are certain limitations.

Why Would I Want a Pedal Commander?

The major flaw with modern ETCs is how much slower the throttle reaction time is. Producers can limit the throttle's response in two different methods. They initially limit the throttle body's opening. For instance, the ECM will only open to 80% even if the throttle pedal is fully depressed. The speed at which the throttle body opens is likewise controlled by software. In other words, it makes no difference how rapidly you apply the gas. Since the ECM controls the signal's speed, your foot cannot make the throttle body move more quickly.

Pedal Commander solves this problem. The data from the PPS will be accepted by the Pedal Commander, which will then compile it into a high-speed control circuit. The Pedal Position Sensors are where it connects in line with the "Engine Control Unit" system. It also slightly advances that number and transmits it straight to the ECU. The engine computer can skip a few checks using this type of information gearbox before sending the command to open the throttle plate.

This permits you to eliminate the accelerator (gas pedal) delay, speeding up your engine's response time. This makes your gas pedal more sensitive, giving you a sportier or vintage feeling.

Enables a more responsive throttle response. best for everyday use. Many of our customers assert that when in city mode, their vehicle accelerates like it should. The recommended alternative for navigating traffic, providing you with a 1:1 pedal-to-throttle acceleration ratio and the response of a "old school" throttle cable.
